Curtiss built a total of 13,738 P-40's between 1938 and 1944. The P-40 was designated as the Warhawk and constituted the principal armament of the U.S. Army Air Forces (USAAF) fighter squadrons throughout 1942 and 1943. The P-40 was most notably flown by the American Volunteer Group, “Flying Tigers” in China 1941 and by Ken Taylor & George Welch during the attack on Pearl Harbor December 7th, 1941.

aircraft flying the P-40.
